Cycles of carbon, nitrogen and phosphorus in poultry manure management technologies – environmental aspects

چکیده
Poultry manure (PM) has become a serious environmental problem due to large scale of industrial production and unsustainable management, causing emissions greenhouse gases (GHGs), odors, leakage nutrients as well inorganic, organic biological pollutants. The main goal this review was get better understanding carbon, nitrogen, phosphorous cycles in processing poultry with the most common technologies such composting, anaerobic digestion, or thermal processes, e.g. pyrolysis. carbon contained matter (ca. 31%) is mineralized humified under aerobic conditions (matter recovery) and/or converted into biogas (energy recovery). PM feedstock for pyrolysis obtain biochar may effectively store prevent C, thus contributing climate change abatement. During nitrogen reduced from compost mixture by leachates form NH4+, NO3− gaseous NH3, N2O, N2. C/N ratio also decisive parameter. Most threats unmanaged result ammonia nitrous oxide emissions, being higher compared cattle cow independently technological processes. mainly inorganic (32-84%). Using untreated fertilizer does not allow taking up high doses phosphorus manure, so excess accumulates soil then leaches groundwater. Biochar struvite are an alternative storage source concentrations phosphorous. Cycles integral effect used management.

Mineralizable phosphorus, nitrogen, and carbon relationships in dairy manure at various carbon-to-phosphorus ratios.
Phosphorus (P) in animal manure can be an important nutrient for crops or an environmental contaminant if in excess. Organic P in dairy manure may add to the environmentally bioactive P pools upon mineralization. A 353d incubation study of manures containing C:P between 83 and 130:1 was conducted to determine linkages between C and P transformations and the effects of C:P on the immobilization-...
متن کاملThe impact of grassland management on biogeochemical cycles involving carbon, nitrogen and phosphorus
Grassland introduction into intensively managed agricultural landscapes may enhance soil organic matter (SOM) content and ecosystem services. However, the magnitude of this effect depends on grassland management practices, and their influence on the soil system. The aim of this paper is to highlight these impacts and their consequences for SOM dynamics and element cycling. We focused in particu...
متن کاملMANURE Mineralizable Carbon, Nitrogen, and Water-Extractable Phosphorus Release from Stockpiled and Composted Manure and Manure-Amended Soils
Much of land-applied manure is surface-broadcast or incorporated to a shallow depth of fields under crop Dissolved N and P transfer to runoff water may increase with residue and conservation tillage management because of surface applications and shallow soil incorporation of animal manure. Information is needed regarding water-extractable nutrient release the need to conserve stored soil water ...
متن کاملStrategies to Modify Phosphorus (P) in Poultry Manure and Litter
Dietary strategies Meet but do not exceed bird P requirements. Dietary P originates primarily from plant and animal feedstuffs and from inorganic P supplements. Formulating nutritionists can make considerable impact when they provide enough available P to meet bird requirements yet control the urge to add significant amounts as an extra margin of safety. For example, the National Research Counc...
متن کاملExport of manure phosphorus and nitrogen in turfgrass sod.
Regulatory mandates have increased demand for best management practices (BMPs) that will reduce nutrient loading on watersheds impaired by excess manure P and N. Export of manure P and N in turfgrass sod harvests is one BMP under consideration. This study quantified amounts and percentages of P and N removed in a sod harvest for different rates of manure and inorganic P and N. Six treatments co...
